Case Studies
Where there is no vision, the people perish
Proverbs 29:18
Stories from David Norgard’s Journals
Over the years, I've has kept a journal of the work I've done. Not as conquests, but as a means to reflect on the experience in order to gain insight from it and then using that insight to meet the next challenge. Often in the moment of battle, amidst the smoke and action, valuable points are lost or go unrecognized as key pivot points. I have found my journal invaluable over time as I study what went well or what could have gone better.
In these case studies, you may discover some similarities to issues you or your organization is facing. Although your organization my have a different mission than the case studies specifically, most nonprofits have the same goals generally.
In most cases, you will find an example of how good people, doing good work, face critical challenges. Each group met their challenges nobly, “turned the situation around,” and eventually moved forward with renewed strength, advancing its mission.
In one case, you will find an example of recognizing extraordinary opportunity and working strategically to make the most of it. In most cases you will recognize facets of your own organization and how with guidance from the outside, can create a renewed and vibrant team, ready to move forward.
