Key Accomplishments

  • As Marketing and Public Relations Manager for the fifth fastest growing company in Canada, Rachel wrote and implemented the company’s first ever national public relations plan, and oversaw the sourcing and design of over 250 promotional items to reinforce brand identity. Providing PR and marketing resources for the savvy company’s distributors and customers, Rachel managed numerous international trade shows, including live model / haircutting shows, and maximizing on-site sales of product and merchandise to hairstylists and salon owners. She simultaneously assisted in creating product and promotional packaging, and oversaw all of the company’s charitable and community involvements.

  • As Director of Marketing for a growing inspirational gifts company, Rachel was charged with the responsibility of building their marketing program. For international business to business clients accessed through distributors in four different sales channels, Rachel managed a comprehensive program including developing new products, creating point-of-purchase displays, creating exhibits for national stationery and gift trade shows, and managing a large catalog project twice per year–art direction, writing, photography direction, and concepting.

  • As Director of Advancement and Public Relations for Episcopal Community Services of Minnesota, Rachel provided oversight to all fundraising and communications efforts for this 40-year old statewide social service agency. With respect to fundraising, she handled all efforts in order to raise $1.2 million annually--managing individual, church, and corporate relationships, overseeing and generating direct mail, and grant submissions. With respect to marketing communications, Rachel oversaw the reestablishment of ECS’ identity in the community, including brand development, production of all marketing materials, and positioning of all of its programs relative to the implementation of a new strategic plan.

  • In 2004, Rachel established her own consulting business. She now works with a wide variety of clients as a freelance graphic designer, writer, grant writer, fundraising, and marketing consultant. Rachel possesses experience identifying and developing organizations’ identities, and creating and implementing marketing and fundraising strategies to further these identities. She continues to write, design and source a wide array of promotional pieces on behalf of her clients. She also has significant experience running special events, having provided oversight to the annual fundraising Gala while at ECS and numerous other events over the years. Her particular passion is helping small businesses, non-profits, and entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life and grow their capacity. Her experience in a broad range of fields gives her a unique perspective on how to maximize resources and efforts in order to help her clients achieve their goals, despite budgetary and time constraints.
