All projects proceed according to terms stipulated in a Service Agreement prepared by David Norgard in consultation with the client before work begins. The standard elements of a Service Agreement are described below.
- Summary & Background – provides an overview of the presenting situation and its most relevant contributing factors.
- Project Outcomes – define what the client may expect to accomplish by the end of the project.
- Project Approach – presents an outline of what will be done and in what order
- Parts/Phases – describe particular components of the project which will be done either concurrently (part) or sequentially (phase).
- Objectives – articulate the specific aim of each project component
- Action Step Outlines – delineate how the consultant will work toward achieving the stated objective.
- Timeframe – specifies what length of time the project is estimated to require and the factors upon which timely conclusion are dependent.
- Parts/Phases – describe particular components of the project which will be done either concurrently (part) or sequentially (phase).
- Client Commitments – lists the various ways the client needs to partner with the consultant in order for the project to succeed, such as providing documents, arranging interviews, reviewing reports, etc.
- Terms of Agreement – detail the business arrangements between OD180 and the client organization.
- Costs – name the expenses associated with the project.
- Service Fees – provides the overall price for the services to be rendered.
- Reimbursable Expenses – stipulate what additional materials and services will be billed separately (at cost).
- Billing – provides the payment schedule.
- Conditions – begins with those caveats and qualifications attorneys are wont to include.
- Cancellation – stipulates the client’s financial obligation if it elects to stop the project before completion.
- Changes – states how amendments may be made to the project’s design and with what impact upon costs and timing.
- Arbitration – states that the two parties will agree to binding arbitration in the event of distinct unpleasantness.
- Representatives – names the designated client representative for the project.
- Costs – name the expenses associated with the project.
- Engagement – indicates acceptance of the Service Agreement by both OD180 and the client.
