Process Overview

  1. Survey all current resource development policies, practices, and results.
  2. Prepare an assessment of the findings along with general recommendations relative to each segment of the development cycle: cultivation – solicitation – recognition – tracking.
  3. Prepare customized protocols pertaining to each major development function component, including: annual giving, special appeals, planned giving, donor relations, and community/public relations.
  4. Train board and staff members in the protocols.
  5. Monitor implementation of the protocols and revise as appropriate.

Anticipated Outcomes

Building upon a comprehensive survey and assessment of current resource development practices, procedures, and results, organization leaders possess a blueprint for a comprehensive resource development function.
